Differences between legacy and cloud based e-mail services

The following are the majority of the differences between our legacy and cloud based e-mail services:

1) Your desktop/mobile devices can use secure logins using the server name.  For instance if you choose to be on our Chicago central server, it would be ahsoka.parcomweb.com for your outbound mail.  (This is provided to you upon signing up with the new system.)   However, if you use something like Microsoft Outlook it should autosense it during configuration of your client software (depends on the version of course) Otherwise, doing the manual/advanced configuration option can assure you use the mail server via secure connection for your users.

2) Multiple web interfaces compatible with mobile devices via the web.  We offer multiple interfaces that you can choose from.  Managing forwarding mail is better for individuals to manage instead of the admin having to do it all.

3) Mobile connectivity is improved for client device access (better time outs, and other technical benefits)

4) IMAP is far more up to date for those clients needing to keep email on the server for multiple IMAP device connectivity to a single account.  but, POP mail is still available as always.

5) Built in basic anti-spam with capability for the enhanced anti-spam we built to make it even better: http://www.parcomweb.com/services/spam-suppressor/  (a worthy add on that many get)

6) Email account management is easier - you can manage and assign disk space per user better now.

7) Enhanced stability and security in the Parcom cloud.

8) Ability to use a more strict antispam (not recommended for novices) where you shut out every email, but allow only those you want to receive.  That is tedious for some, but if you only email lets say 10 people, then it works well.  However, if you never know who will email you, we don't recommend it.   Some people like it!  That feature is within the control panel and it is called "BoxTrapper."
